Doce de leite

Known in Australia for its Spanish name Dulce de Leche, it is a milk jam essentially made by slowly reducing milk and sugar for a few hours. Also available from South American shops and online. Even though the flavour is not quite the same, Dulce de Leche may be replaced by canned caramel topping or cooked condensed milk.
