Originally from South America, avocado is a very versatile fruit (yes, it is a fruit) that can be eaten either in desserts or savoury dishes. Avocado is great in salads, salsas, dips and even soups. Different from other Latin American countries, Brazilians usually prefer to use avocado in desserts, such as mousses and ice-creams.

In Australia it is available all year round from any supermarket or grocery stores*, please check your own country’s online stores, supermarkets or South American Grocers for Brazilian ingredients.
